Getting to Know You...

1) Is your blog identity a pseudonym or part of your real name?
Well, let's see...My mom wrote a post about thinking long and hard about naming me FarmWife, but no, it's not my name. It's what I am (in the loose sense of the name...meaning we do not depend on our little farm for our daily life. Q.M. calls Husband a Gentlman Farmer).

2) How many states have you lived in? Countries?
I've lived in 2 states (Illinois & Tennessee). I've never been out of the USA, but would love to travel someday...Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, New Zeland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, South Africa...dreams are made of these.

3) How long have you been blogging?
My first Bloggiversary was in Early January 2006. I have posts hidden Jan 1st of '06, but I put them there for the links.

4) If the Internet completely disappeared, would you have to go through a blogger recovery program such as blogoholics anonymous (BA)?
I run a chapter out of our shed. When I lost my connection for nearly 6 months, I tried journaling like I was still blogging...but it just wasn't the same.

5) When you aren't blogging, what are some of your hobbies?
If I can find a book I like, I read rather obsessively. I love movies & watch too much TV. I do like to sew & do small cross stitch projects (mainly for Grandma M&M's Christmas tree). I like to shop for imaginary livestock...chickens, ducks, turkeys, peacocks (I'd love to have a pair...), cranes, swans, geese, goats, calves, sheep...yet more dreams.

6) How many languages do you speak?
One...and not very well at times. I took Spanish in 5th grade & understood NOTHING (They'd never taught us to conjugate English verbs...how the heck was I supposed to be able to do it in Spanish?!) I took 6th & 7th Grade French and did pretty well when Mrs. Reed (who had lived in France for 10 years and had perfect pronunciation) was able to tutor me, but she had to leave school due to progressing MS and my new teacher was...not good (the nicest thing I can say). I took it again Freshman year in HS and the teacher and I locked horns until I gave up & failed. You cannot speak French with a southern accent. Some how I stumbled through 2 years of Latin, but retained nothing except a best friend (Art).

7) Favorite vacation spot?
I love Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee, but haven't been there since my 18th birthday (Inkling, we should both write posts about that on the same day). My last vacation was Brown County State Park in IN. That was so much fun. Our entire family (grands, aunts & uncles, cousins) were there for a long weekend.

8) What is your life verse, quote, or theme?
Right now it's "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus" because I can't handle more than that. Mainly it's the third verse of "It is Well With My Soul."

9) What is the hardest job you have ever had?
Learning to work an assembly line was not easy, but in the long run (and short run), being a mother is the hardest job I've ever had...but also the most rewarding.

10) What is the most rewarding role you have had in life?
I answered the previous question before I'd read this one.

Feel free to pick and choose... answer just 1 or all, whatever suits you.I look forward to getting to know all of you better!!!

Many thanks to Lauren for the meme.

I spoke with Inkling yesterday and she seems to be on the mend. We had some funny thing for me to post, but I've forgotten it...pregnancy amnesia.

I'm off to devour a cinnamon roll & ready the kids & myself for church. Hope you have a wonderful day!

You are one funny lady! And I am so stealing that meme...~snatches it and does a runner, but saves it for a time when it's not ten minutes past her bedtime~
