News

First of all, Aurora is having her pups as I type. So far 1 black pup is hanging out in the shed with it's mama.

Secondly, I'm taking BabyGirl and #1 Son to have their ears checked. It's been nearly 5 weeks since the last infections, so they should be cleared up. BabyGirl complained this morning of her ear being stuffy...it really needs to clear so we can see the ear, nose, & throat dr. about tubes.

Thirdly I just got an email about STM. Here's the important stuff from it:
The Surgeon removed a tumor about the size of a grapefruit, and it was attached to her left ovary. So, he had to remove the ovary. STM's fallopian tube and her other ovary were fine, so the tumor seems to be all confined. It could be one of 3 different types of tumors. One would be made up of ovarian eggs and germs, and that one would not need any more treatment. The other 2 would be cancerous, so STM might need more treatment. Our prayers are for the FIRST one I mentioned.

STM will be in the hospital for at least 3 days, to monitor the baby and make sure she doesn't have any stress or STM goes into premature labor. The surgeon said that he actually didn't have to move the baby very much during the surgery.

Later:
The Oncologist Team just left STM's room. The frozen cross section does have cancerous cells. So, now to Identify which kind of cancer will determine the course of treatment. The surgeon may suggest taking the baby at 34 weeks, so he can take another look around and determine if STM needs to have a Hysterectomy.

The first kind I described is 100% curable. So, lets keep praying that she has the germ/egg kind. STM is in a great deal of pain, but every time baby girl kicks(which is often) she feels very blessed that her baby is doing so well. Also, there are some kinds of Chemo that can be administered during pregnancy....so the determination of the kind of cancer that STM has will be the deciding factor in Chemo.

As of yet, that's all I know. Thank you for your prayers. It's going to be a long road for STM and her family.
