Brown Paper Packages Wrapped up with Tape

A few weeks ago Ragged had a contest to help her name her sock monkey. Even though I did not win, I still received an honorable mention and a prize! I've been eagerly watching my mail box to see what would be coming my way, and ta-da! This is what was awaiting me upon my return from my blood draw today. I am one happy Farm Wife! The little angels each have an engraving on the back of their wings (Faith, Peace, and Love). Thank you so much, Miss Ragged! I cannot wait to wear my new hat!

The boys were almost as excited as I was at the prospect of a package on the doorstep. They kept chanting, "Package! Package! Open it! Open it!" I told them it was mommy's package and not something for little boys, but they still hung over me as I opened the package. Once I got the brown paper off, #1 Son exclaimed, "It's another package, Mommy!!! My favorite!" When I opened the box, they discovered the bubble wrap. That's all it took. They've been popping it ever since. "Mommy, there's enough bubble wrap here to keep us busy all year," #1 Son told me.

If you click on this picture to enlarge it, you may be able to see the 2 black lumps at the bottom of the tree line. There were 5 deer just across the creek in our upper field this morning. It's fairly rare to see them that close to the house, but they did cross the creek and come a bit closer. The kids were so excited, but I think Baby Girl's the only one who really saw them.

Big BIL saw bottle calves for sale for $75 dollars in the paper. We've bought calves from this dairy farm before, so Husband wants me to call and see what they have available. By this weekend, we may have a new baby or two. Right now we're not sure if they're Holsteins or Jerseys, but either way I'm a sucker for calves...who isn't?

Mary Englebreit! Hooray for Farm Wife. I loved the trivia you looked up about the socks!
