A little more info...

Ok, to make a short story long... I suspected I might be pregnant when I left for Tennessee, but I wrote being late off to my recent illness. Inkling has become the Fertility Fairy lately so I e-mailed her to ask if sickness following ovulation could offset my cycle. To wich she replied, Uh...No. It only offsets it if you're sick prior to ovulation.

So I told Mama that we needed to stop at the drug store on the way home from Art's sister's baby shower. When she asked why I said, "I think I might need to pick up a test." Her response was very enthusiastic but we agreed not to tell Daddy because he wouldn't sleep well that night for wondering. I called Husband that night (he stayed on the farm) and gave him a heads up. Turns out he was a little suspicious himself.

I took the test at 5:50 on Sunday morning...Daddy wasn't the only one who would have had problems sleeping that night. I called Husband from the bathroom about a minute into the three the test is supposed to take (so yes, Inkling. I told him before I posted the news on Blogger). He was very excited. He got on the phone and told B.B. (who was the only other one awake at the time), but B.B. was unimpressed. He thought we had lost our minds.

After getting off the phone with Husband I woke Daddy up and told him. Actually B.B. woke him up, but the results were the same. After telling Daddy, I e-mailed Little BIL. He's been stationed in South Korea since May and I wanted him to get the e-mail before he turned in for the night (Husband had told him on the phone Saturday night that there was a pretty good chance I was pregnant). Little BIL was thrilled and is planning on taking his leave in time to come home and see Baby.

After that I thought I should post before I started getting ready to head back to the farm, so techinically, you all knew before my mom, Baby Girl, and #1 Son. I did seriously mess up though...In the rush to leave and the confusiion of getting home, I forgot to call Did. She found out in the process of catching up on my blog...whoops. That's not really good on my part...especially since we've only been friends since we were 13. Sorry, Did!

In related news, the hospital where I had the first three is no longer delivering babies. That left me to find a new OB/GYN. Not something I'm too excited about. I love my doctor. I love his nurse. I loved the OB staff at the hospital. No one bothered to ask me when they decided to close down the OB. So I've found a doctor that delivers in the hospital where Husband's aunt works. Husband has a cousin who saw him with both her pregnancies and really like him. I have an appointment for November the 16th. Keep your fingers crossed that I'll like him too.

As for a due date, Husband and I have come up with July 2nd. This being our 4th go around, we're old hat at figuring out due dates...we don't need no stinkin' doctor! So there you have it.
Needlefingers is starting on a "nice neutral colored blanket" even though she has a hunch Baby is a girl. Baby Girl is still hoping it's a girl (but then, so am I). B.B. is convinced Baby H.T. is in my belly (and somehow H.T. pooped in B.B.'s diaper this morning...at least that's what B.B. told me). #1 Son just informed me I can name the baby what ever I want (he had been insisting on Larry-Boy or Larry the Cucumber or Bob the Tomato or Junior Asparagus). Mama is hoping for twins. Busha's convinced the baby is a boy. And tomorrow Baby Girl gets to announce it in church...she's so excited.

If I'm the Ferility Fairy, what does that make Henry David? Just wondering.

Next question: Should we co-write a blog post quoting that hysterical story about male contraception in the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility? I don't know.....can you type those kinds of words in public?

Okay - since you've apologized in front of the whole blogosphere, you are forgiven. But don't let it happen again! By the way, did I say CONGRATULATIONS!

You know, sometimes I wonder if pregancy is infectious.. I don't mean that in a bad way.. but in small groups of people babies all seem to come in flushes. Ever noticed that?
Here's a question to ponder: do you reckon being on a farm, with all the reproducing that goes on and the cycle of life stuff, makes you have more kids?
