Party Time! Excellent!
I'm at Mama and Daddy's now. Today is Princess's baby shower and I'm so excited! Mama took us to see the location last night. It's an old car dealership...and I don't mean old dealership, I mean old cars. There's a snack bar set up that looks like an old soda shop. There's old car memorabilia everywhere. And through the big windows in the show room there are no less than 10 pristine, fabulous show cars. I cannot wait to see how it all sets up.**** Mama took me, Art, Princess, and Mama's 13 year old friend A.K. to see the dealership and pick up last minute shower supplies last night. We sang Johnny Cash all through the grocery and then went and serenaded Bubba who was crashed at his buddies' house. Art and I sang "We wish you a merry Christmas" and he slammed the door in our faces. When he opened it again we finished up with 'Proud Mary.' Just for the record it was all Mama's idea. *** The kids are thrilled to be at Grammy and Pa's house. Art brought one of Syd's old costumes for Baby Girl. It's a sleeping beauty dress...She didn't want to take it off last night to get ready for bed. I'm pretty sure she's going to want to wear it to the shower. *** Next week Mama is bringing Art and her troop to 'Eloise' (as her middle child calls Illinois) to see us. #1 Son told Art last night that he would, "Never let you in my house!!!" He's so hospitable. She said, "What if I bring some kids for you to play with and those kids bring cookies?" "Yeah, but I still can't let you in the house." *** For now I'm just hoping we can make it through today. Husband wants to leave to start the drive home tonight. I wasn't planning on leaving until tomorrow, but I know he's pretty wiped out lately. Working 10 hour days has been pretty tough on him. Now I'm a little worried because there's a man who can "bump" him out of his job come November 18th. Then he may have to go back to second shift...I'm not thrilled about this, but what can I do? Nada. So instead of stressing I'm leaving this one up to my Maker. I'm pretty sure He can handle it. *** Well, a part awaits! Mustn't keep H.T. waiting! He's going to be a spoiled little guy...but then isn't that what babies are for?

Hey Girlie, I'm missing you guys, and hope you have a spectacularly rockin' shower. Whatever little H.T. decides to do with the all the advice you are giving him will be quite the interesting thing to witness. I'd love to hear some of the other women's ideas for advice to give a baby. You'll have to tell us how the whole thing went, that is, if FarmHusband lets you have a minute to breathe in front of the computer. Maybe you could slip him some valium?...... just kidding....
Sounds like a fabulous time and I love your ideas for the shower. What a great theme.
Okay.. now you just have to get internet again. This long time between posts is going to do me in. I can't write letters fast enough to get replies giving me all the fun stories from up there. This blog thing was so good for me... you have to get it back.
Okay so the whole reason for that rant above is that I want to know how the shower went and I want to know how Art's trip to Eloise goes. *sigh* I guess I better go write a letter ;)
Big wheels keep on turning, Proud Mary keep on burnin'. We're rolling, rolling, rolling on the river.........
I'm anxious to hear about the party, too. I love the way you all have so much fun when you're together!
