As you may have noticed, I am now without my internet connection. But thanks to the kindness and hospitality of Uncle E and Aunt C, I am not a total Blogger lockout. I won't be around as frequently, but I'll still drop in to say hey!
We had a BIG weekend. #1. I met Ragged, Cynical, Brando, Rudy and their kids. It was great! We (Ragged, Cynical, Pilot, Needlfingers, me and the tots) met up at Old Settler Days (think renaissance Festival for Little House on the prairie). Drank real rootbeer (in cool green bottles...one of which is taking up residence on my cabinet), listened to an odd telling of Humpty Dumpty, got to pet Silver Fox tails (minus the foxes), and watched a rather intent young man throw hatchets at a poor defenseless stump...my kids loved that part.
Even Baby Girl (who was bounded and determined to be shy) warmed up to Ragged and Needlefingers...she loves Needle's hair and the fact that she makes her own socks. But I think the kids favorite part of the day was invading Pilot and Rudy's parent's house. They played with all Yin and Yuri's toys (I'm not sure Yin was too keen on that, but she never took issue with them...she just watched them very intently. "Who are these people at my grandparents' house and what do they think they're doing messing with my stuff?"), and got their own cups of goldfish from their Grands. Everytime Yuri would try to set down, Baby Girl would ask, "You wanna' go have more fun?" I think she developed a slight crush (on most of the males there).
It was so cool to meet the people's who's lives I've been so interested in for the past few months...and now I have faces to go along with all the stories...and more stories to go with the faces...like why Ragged never gets car sick.
#2. We took Little BIL and the kiddo's to E'ville to ride the carousel at the mall. #1 Son had been asking to ride it all week and we figured, what the heck. Besides, I was on the GREAT BATHING SUIT HUNT. And much to my great joy, I found one. I'm tres picky about swimsuits and the fact that I found one for under $75 makes me enormously happy.
The kids rode the carousel 3 times (enough to make me vomit repeatedly...but then I didn't have to ride, so it was OK). We checked out the pet stores (with the specification that we were bringing no living creatures home. #1 Son did ask if he could get a dead hermit crab, but I didn't think that was a great idea either...although it might have been the most hassle free animal we'd have owned. Maybe I should've got it for him...
We'll, I'd better go wrangle my kids before they destroy a house that doesn't belong to me. I can't promise anything, but I'll try to post at least once a week! I already miss you all!

I am glad we got to catch up with each other. I asked Yuri why he was so shy around Baby Girl. I think he had a crush on her too. When I would ask about her he would get bashful and hide his face.
We miss you, too! (Of course, we could cure that by hopping in the Jeep, couldn't we?)
Hermit crabs! I LOVE HERMIT CRABS! In fact, I am like the Francis of Assisi to hermit crabs - so if you get any I can give you some good tips.. (number one is a humid environment) - don't stop blogging!
