The Weekend Update
I'm going to suggest a little summer reading. It's considered a "teen" novel or maybe a "tween" novel, but I'm dying to read it. It was written by the mother of a very dear friend of mine. If I tell you who's mother it is, I'll violate my own privacy policy. Sorry. At any rate, Mama F wrote this a couple of years ago and I'm feeling like a bad 4th child because I've yet to read it. So I'm plugging it here. I know you can pick it up at Amazon...but you can also check it out here along with a sample of the writing.
In farm news, Baby Girl has yet another ear infection. When I picked her up at school Thursday a mother told me strep was going around again. In fact, Best Friend has it. So when Baby Girl woke up Friday with a fever, I suspected strep. The Nurse practitioner (Ms. B) said ear infection. I said, "AGAIN!" She said, "Sorry." She may also have strep, but since they're treated the same there's no sense in doing a culture.
My next concern was tubes. When I asked Ms.B how close we were to them she said concern was growing. This may be a continuation of a single ear infection instead of the third in 2 months. An Ear infection can take up to 8 weeks to clear so they can't be sure. Ms.B wants to see Baby Girl in a month to check her ear. If there is still fluid and infection, then we have to discuss tubes.
I was pretty well terrified of this until yesterday. Husband's cousins have had tubes and so have some kids at church. Aunt CB told me about her girls' tubes and VW from church told me about a good Ear, Nose, and Throat DR. who put in her kids' tubes. Now I'm not quite as concerned. I'm still praying she doesn't have to have them at all, but I'm not as panicked about them.
Bluebell is doing well. She's become quite popular. Everyone has come to visit her and she's been well fawned over. Although I'm not sure she cares.
B.B. has become obsessed with the riding mower. If his dad is mowing he must be with him. He sets contentedly on his father's knee as Husband drives around in giant circles. For the life of me, I do not understand the interest...but I think it may be more about thinking his dad is the living end than the actual mower it's self. My baby's a baby no longer. Now he's a boy.

Yin had an ear infection from the ay of her arrival until almost 8 weeks later when we had tubes put in her ears. The difference was night and day. She was so much happier. She was not able to sit up becuase the flid made her dizzy and in NO time she was sitting and then crawling.
You can always call me about this.
Good luck!
Thanks Brando! I thought you'd said one of your kiddo's had to have tubes. I'm much more accepting of the idea now that I know it's fairly simple and not at all invasive.
The insertion of tubes in the ears is some what simple. They just make a small hole in the ear drum to allow the fluid behind the ear drum to drain. They put a small plastic tube in the hole to keep the ear drum from healing over and trapping the fluid again. I know there may not be too many words of comfort but it is a very, very common procedure. Good Luck.
NO NOT YET
I need just alittle more time before B.B. comes off the baby list.
It's ok Grammy...
Princess is getting you a new baby.
