Spring is in the Air!

70 degrees. Did you catch that? Seventy Degrees. Today is the first day of March. Some lion! Not that I'm complaining. NO! I'm thrilled, even if it is supposed to rain.

I saw my first dandelion today. I love dandelions. They mean spring is coming. They're a bright spot in my dead yard. They're vibrant and cheery (and I don't even mind that they're yellow). And when they turn white, I love to blow the little buggers all over the yard! I'm not sure Husband appreciates my propensity for poofing dandelion seeds, but the kids do. I could never have a pristine yard, free of weeds. That would mean no dandelions, no clover, no violets. How sad. Not for this farm girl. Weeds are just homeless flowers. I guess this year March came in like a Dandelion!

And sheets on the line. I could wax poetic about sheets on the line, but I've already written more than I could expect anyone to really read today. I love freshly washed, line dried sheets. I cannot wait to shower and crawl in between the crispness of them. I may hyperventilate breathing in their goodness.

And my windows were all open. A gentle breeze made my curtains flutter. The stale air was banished for the moment. The smell of puppies, guinea pigs, and onions is no more. The neighbors (if I had any) could hear me screaming at my children. Spring is on its way!

I'm even getting over the fact that #1 Son dumped half a bottle of Baby Wash on the bathroom carpet yesterday. Guess he thought it'd be a good way to get the lotion out! Did you know you can't get baby wash out of a carpet with a Bissel Pro-heat? But you can make a heck of a lot of suds!

You know, you could just add a bit of water to the carpet for the next few weeks, roll #1 son around on it for a few minutes, then stick him in the shower and rinse. After that process, find the spot with the lotion (sorry, I sort of feel guilty for giving it to you now) and roll him around in that so he's all moisturized after his "bath". It's an idea anyway.....

I absolutely adore the clothes line. I can practically smell spring! The current to do list for my husband is his chickens and fencing the pasture. My list includes a garden and a clothes line ... neither of which we have on our acreage we purchased a year and a half ago. I can hardly wait!

I wish I could hang clothes outside.... no go. First of all, freezing rain here in Michigan... On top of that, the pollen and other allergens that would land on my clothes... Ugh, I'd be a sneezy gal! You're so lucky!!

Send Spring here, please... The sheets bring me even more need for spring...Still winter here, wind and three inches of rain..you lucky girl you...My guilty pleasure is the 550 thread count sheets that FEEL like spring...even if it is not...
