Meet Our New Addition
I'm pleased to introduce Aurora Skye. She's our newest critter. A Great Dane pup we picked up today. We were supposed to pick her up yesterday, but the snow, and 11 piglets changed our minds. We got her from a couple about 2 hours from here.
We made a pit stop at PetSmart first to outfit her with a little bling and pick up some dog bowls. Check out the hot pink collar Baby Girl picked out for her. And we made her a bone shaped tag in case she should roam too far from the farm.
She's a lover. We brought her home, wormed her, and bathed her. Then Husband's cousins came to see her. Once everything settled down, she climbed up in my lap for a cuddle. I think she knew I was the mom and just needed a little attention. That clinched it for me. I'm in love again.
She's just as smart as the Guinea Pigs. She'd only been home about 20 minutes before she said Baby Girl's name. These are some amazing animals we have! Baby Girl is enthralled. Or she was until her throat started hurting again. I really hope this isn't a recurring bout of strep! #1 Son has been grumpy the past 2 days and sounds a little hoarse.
We stopped at Rural King on the way home (#1 Son always calls it Burger King). Husband ran in to get the wormer and I stayed with the kids and puppy. When he came out he said he got me something. Now Husband isn't much for buying spur of the moment gifts. In fact, I'm not sure he's done that since we got married...Well, maybe once or twice...But I digress. I thought he was being a smart aleck (which he's famous for) and meant he bought me wormer. I was ready to get mouthy right back when he pulled the above candle out of the bag. I was touched...Until I found out the cashier bullied him into it. It seems she was selling them as some kind of fund raiser (Husband couldn't remember what for. Either Girl Scouts or Cheerleaders). To be honest, I was still touched. It's not often he buys me gifts, so I'm not going to complain about the motives!

aww, she's a pretty girl :). I just love a cuddly dog. The candle is lovely too. Is it "flavored?" It's the thought that counts whether coerced or not.
The candle is Cinnamon something or other.
She's so very sweet. What a sweet puppy and SMART, she identified you right off the bat.
She is adorable. I'm sure the kids are thrilled.
