Eggs and Puppies
Does anyone need fresh eggs? We got 21 from our hens today. If they're laying like this in the Winter I can't imagine what they'll do this Spring.
I guess Winter is still here after all. I have mixed feelings about this. I'm not a big fan of cold and snow, but the continuation of Fall right into Spring freaks me out a little. At least this way I know Winter won't last too long.
Yesterday the kids and I went and made a deposit on one of the Great Dane pups Husband found on line. He's a precious little thing. His eyes aren't even open yet. The family that has him raises Danes. They own 6 of their own and breed them on a regular basis.
Husband has been looking for a male since we moved to the country and he's thrilled to be getting one. After being around the Breeders Danes, I'm so glad we're getting another. The farm seems so empty without one. I really miss Dagmar, but it's nice to have a puppy to look foreword to. I know, it's not like we don't have enough animals already!
Oh, and in keeping with the Star Wars theme we're naming him Luke. As we were heading over to see him I asked the kids what we should name the new puppy. Baby Girl suggested Prince Charming, Wilbur, and Steve. #1 Son suggested Cinderella, and Blue. I thought we should name him Luke since we already have a Vader, but I didn't say anything out loud. A few minutes later Baby Girl said, "How about Luke, Mom?" I wasn't sure I heard her right so I asked if she meant Luke like the boy in her class. "Yeah, Mom. I like the name Luke." I figured it was a sign and we should stick with it.
