I've just discovered it is National Delurking week! Not that I had any clue what that meant. So I did what any good, internet obsessed young woman would do and I Googled it! Turns out it's all about blogging and fessing up to it.
Here's the deal: if you are reading this on a regular basis, this is your chance to come out of the shadows and leave a comment. Let us know you're there.
I've done it once so far, and in the spirit of the holiday, I plan to do it a few more times (isn't it funny what we consider a holiday). This is where I confess to my new obsession... Reading the blogs of total strangers. In my own defense, I only read 4 blogs written by folks I don't know. And I found them through links on the blog of a friend. I read one written by a grandmother, one by an early 30 something (I think) raised by hippies, and 2 by moms with young kids.
It's nice to know there are people out there living lives very different from my own (even the other moms). Sometimes I forget there is life away from the farm and our po-dunk little town. Isolation tends to warp the mind. Good news, tomorrow is Wal-Mart Day! We get to go to town! How sad is that?
Bad news, Tinkerbell's artificial insemination didn't take. So instead she's gone to visit the black Angus bull at Husband's parents' farm just up the road. I like Angus; Husband preferred Semintol. Guess I'll get my way, not that I cared too much. Check me out knowing more than 1 breed of cattle!
In much better news, I get to meet Inkling's new beau next week. Well, maybe not new... This has been 15 years in the making. Inkling met him while they were both working at a church camp in Canada in '91. They corresponded for a few years, lost contact and recently got back in touch.
Henry David (not his real name) lives in Canada (British Columbia maybe) and is down visiting for the week. Inkling is taking him to meet our grandparents and dropping by here on their way home. As I understand it an engagement is imminent followed closely by a wedding... I hope so. Inkling's had a rough time in the boyfriend department and deserves a good man. Strike that, a Great man! If Henry David is half the man she says he is, he should fit the bill nicely. I can't wait to meet him (even if it does mean cleaning my house)!

Farm Wife,
I am kind delurking, but I suspect you have to know that I have stopped by as I know you have visited my online home also.
It's amazing how rich it is to read the blogs of people you may know in real life and and those that you only know online.
I think that my draw is that there are so many interesting people living lives far different or some similar in nature to mine. Blogs just broaden my base and expand the diversity in my life. I am hooked. My name is Ragged and yes I read blogs daily.
It's me. It's me, Ragged and yes I visit your online home regularly. I stop by because you are ever so interesting and have such a cool twist on how you look at life.
I too love to read blogs and I have to admit that I only know four of the people I visit often online, so you are not alone.
Thanks so much for your compliments and comments on my blog.
Well, you're on my list of daily reads. It's amazing that you know 2 kinds of cows. I do too, but I like to call them brown, and the white ones with the black spots...
Em, the white ones with black spots are holsteins, and the brown can be many different things. If I ever figure out how to do this I'll publish a picture of Tinkerbell (she's a "Big, Brown Cow. She goes Moo, Moo, Moo." I wanted to name her Drew.)
I have been de-lurked. Now I jump back into the closet to hide....:)
