Take me home, country roads, to the place I belong....
I'm watching Daltry Calhoun. It's making me homesick. I need a full week to spend at QM & Daddy's. A week with no obligations. No showers to throw, no weddings to attend, no reunions. Just a week to visit, drive around town, set with Art & drink sweet tea on QM's deck, shop, play with HT, shoot pool with Bubba, watch my folks play with my kids, eat JJ's BB-Q, drink bad coffee with Did at the Awful Waffle...yeah, I'm homesick.
Mmmm JJ's BBQ- how much would I like a BBQ potato right about now. Have not found one that even comes close in comparison.
We watched Daltry Calhoun. I was not impressed by the movie itself (baaaaad accents). Don't you wanna yell "Don't go that way!! That's a bad part of town to walk alone in!" As she's passing by Ted's?
You're not the only one, Zann. I was talking to the TV, "Oh, girl, don't go there...even if it is day light!!" And I was irritated by them changing the Ted's sign...it's much cooler in it's original form.
From a girl who is all too familiar with homesickness, I say hang in there! Try making QM's favorite dish or recreating a family tradition. That usually helps me! Good Luck!

ReplyDeleteI get being homesick!! That area may not be fancy, but it's home and therefore comforting!
ReplyDeleteIf you do make it home, maybe Zann and I can meet up with you? Pretty please? Or does that count as a reunion of sorts?
ReplyDeleteIt could happen.
